Comments
When visitors leave comments on this site, we gather the details entered in the comment form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser’s user agent, to assist with detecting spam.
We may generate an anonymized hash from your email address and share it with the Gravatar service to check if you have an associated profile. You can review Gravatar’s privacy policy here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture may appear publicly next to it.
Media
When uploading images to the website, it’s best to avoid including embedded location details (such as EXIF GPS data). Other visitors can download these images and retrieve any location information stored within them.
Cookies
When you leave a comment on our site, you can choose to save your name, email, and website in cookies. This is designed for your convenience so that you won’t need to re-enter your details when commenting again. These cookies are kept for one year.
If you visit our login page, a temporary cookie will be set to check if your browser allows cookies. This cookie does not contain any personal information and is removed once you close your browser.
When you log in, we’ll set several cookies to remember your login details and display preferences. Login cookies remain for two days, while display preferences are stored for a year. Selecting “Remember Me” keeps your login active for two weeks. Logging out removes the login cookies.
If you edit or publish an article, an extra cookie will be stored in your browser. This cookie doesn’t hold personal data and simply notes the ID of the article you edited. It expires after 24 hours.
Embedded Content from Other Websites
Content on this site may feature embedded elements (such as videos, images, articles, etc.) from other websites. This embedded content acts just as if you visited the original website.
These external sites may gather information about you, use cookies, include additional third-party tracking, and observe your interactions with the embedded content. If you hold an account and are logged in to the external site, they may track your engagement with that content as well.
Who we share your data with
When you request a password reset, the email sent for this purpose will include your IP address as part of the process.
How Long We Retain Your Data
When you leave a comment, both the comment itself and its metadata are stored indefinitely. This allows us to recognize and automatically approve any future comments, eliminating the need for moderation.
For registered users, we keep the personal information provided in their user profiles. All users can view, modify, or delete their personal details anytime (though usernames cannot be changed). Site administrators also have access to view and edit this information.
What Rights You Have Over Your Data
If you’ve created an account on this site or left comments, you have the right to request a file containing the personal data we’ve collected about you, including information you’ve shared with us. You can also request that we delete any personal information we have on file. Please keep in mind that some data may need to be kept for administrative, legal, or security purposes, and cannot be removed.
Where Your Data Goes
